OWENSBORO, KY. – Facing one of the best team in the nation is never an easy task. The Kentucky Wesleyan College volleyball team played host to the Great Midwest frontrunner and nationally ranked 13
th team in the country on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers fell in straight sets to Hillsdale College.
The Chargers (19-3, 8-0 G-MAC) covered the court with precision throughout as the opening set featured some long rallies. The Panthers (13-10, 6-3 GMAC) had to work for every point they attempted to navigate around the Hillsdale defense. The Chargers held an early 9-8 lead during the onset, but rattled off 10 of 13 points to take command of the frame, winning. 25-15.

In the second set
Alexa Davis' kill ended a three-point run by Wesleyan and cut the Hillsdale lead to 15-13. However, the Chargers again went on an extended run, 10-0, to end the set. The Chargers held a .308 attacking percentage in the second stanza.
The Panthers won four of five points in the early going of the third to take a 9-8 lead. Out of a Hillsdale timeout the Chargers won eight of the next 10 points, halting the Panthers momentum.
Sierra Morrow recorded two late kills in a three point run late to bring the Panthers within 23-17, but the Chargers settled back in to end the match, 25-18.
Julia Moran finished with seven kills while Morrow, Davis, and
Jaylen McEwen each added five kills. McEwen recorded a team best 18 digs while
Lydia Jackson dished out 15 assists.
The Panthers will travel to Tiffin, Ohio on Thursday for a match-up against the Dragons. The match is scheduled to start at 6 PM CT.
