OWENSBORO, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's golf team got low rounds from
Collins Dodson and
Christian Tooley to defeat Brescia University in the Battle for Frederica. The Panthers shot 291 en route to a 4 ½ - ½ victory in head-to-head medal play.
The opening match featured
Samuel Bland locked in back-and-forth battle with Jake Jarvis. The pair halved the point by both shooting rounds of three-over par 75.
Alex Phillips gave the Panthers their first full point with a 77-84 win over Parker Brown.
Collins Dodson shot three-under par 69 to defeat Daniel Steele by seven shots.
Carter Dodson played an even par back-nine to post a round of five over 77 as he defeated Dakota Jones. Capping off the match was
Christian Tooley who played an inward nine at two-under par 34, posting 70 and winning by six shots over Ryan Moore.

The Panthers totaled a team score of three over par 291 in the process.
Wesleyan also saw
Jackson Caudill and
Lance Lewis win their matches after shooting 83 and 88 respectively. Playing in his first collegiate round,
Dylan Bonfield shot a round of 81 and won his match as well.
Max Dubree shook off a tough start to the day and shot a round of 86.
Ryan Hodges shot a round of 96.
The Panthers will travel to Caseyville, Illinois to play in the Bearcat Intercollegiate. The 54-hole event will be contested at Far Oaks Golf Course and being on Monday.
