Wesleyan Blanks Mighty Oaks Behind Hunt's Four Goals

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Madisyn Hunt tallied a hat trick plus one on Sunday as the Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team blanked Oakland City University in a non-conference matchup.  With the 9-0 win, the Panthers improve to 3-5-1 on the season.

Wesleyan dominated the first half, outshooting the Mighty Oaks 22-0.  A balanced attack allowed the Panthers to find the back of the net three times in the first 45 as Madisyn Hunt, Natalie Hinchcliffe and Sarah Haleman each recorded a goal.  Breigh Haase picked up an assist on Hinchcliffe's goal.

Three straight goals from Hunt extended the lead to 6-0 as the sophomore scored in the 47th, 56th and 58th minute.  Haase and Clements each earned one assist.

In the 64th minute Haase scored her first goal of the game.  Skylar Walden and Hinchcliffe tallied goals in the 72nd and 79th minute to seal the win for the Panthers.

Brittany Johnston earned her second win of the season after blanking the Mighty Oaks in the first half.  Shelby Stearsman made two saves in the final 45 minutes.

Hunt led all players with 10 shots, five of which were on goal.  Hinchcliffe tallied four while Walden and Erika Hinchcliffe recorded four.  Madalyn Peveler, Kamryn Pulliam and Haase contributed three.

The Panthers return to Great Midwest Athletic Conference play this week, hosting Malone on Thursday and Walsh on Saturday.
