NEW CONCROD, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team gave Ohio Valley a scare on Thursday morning. The Panthers held a lead twice in the first half before the Fighting Scots emerged with a 7-2 decision.
The Panthers (2-5-1, 2-4-1 G-MAC) are not unfamiliar with a fast-paced match as they took a 1-0 lead in the 17
th minute.

Madisyn Hunt beating the OVU defense for the first score of the match. Three minutes later the Fighting Scots (6-1-3, 5-0-1 G-MAC) converted the equalizer with Jennifer Medina's goals.
Wesleyan bounced back in the 28
th minute as Hunt scored her second goal of the match and her fifth goal of the season. The 2-1 advantage was short-lived as the Scots rebounded with another game-tying score less than a minute later.
The Panthers peppered the OVU net with nine shots in the opening half, five being on goal. However, in the 36
th minute Konstantina Giannou scored her second goal of the match to give the Fighting Scots a 3-2 lead at the break.
Konstantina completed the hat-trick in the 49
th minute to extend the OVU lead to 4-2. The Fighting Scots added three more goals in the second half to distance Wesleyan. OVU took 11 shots in the final 45 minutes, seven shots came on the Panthers' goal.
A trio of Panthers took four shots on the day with Hunt converting two goals.
Skylar Walden and
Natalie Hinchcliffe also took four shots in the Great Midwest match.
The Panthers will return home on Sunday to host Oakland City University. The match at Panther Field is scheduled to start at 2:30 PM.
