OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team completed its season series with the University of Findlay on Thursday, falling 4-0 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference matchup. The Panthers move to 1-3-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the G-MAC while the Oilers remain unbeaten at 4-0-1 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play.
The Oilers struck early, scoring in the 6th minute to take an early 1-0 lead. A tightly contested first half saw the two teams even in shots at 8, and both goalkeepers with four saves. Findlay took a 1-0 lead to the break.
In the 47th minute the Oilers found the back of the net again to extend their lead to 4-0. A penalty kick in the 75th minute allowed Findlay to go up 3-0 before they sealed the victory in the 81st minute with their fourth and final goal.
Wesleyan was edged in shots, 18-13, with
Madisyn Hunt leading the way with seven, three of with were on goal.
Skylar Walden tallied three shots while
Breigh Haase,
Natalie Hinchcliffe and
Kamryn Pulliam all recorded one.
Brittany Johnston played the full 90 minutes in net, making six saves while allowing four goals.
The Panthers return to action on Saturday, hosting G-MAC newcomer Tiffin University at 3:30 pm CT at Panther Field in Owensboro, Ky.
