OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's soccer team battled the University of Findlay for the first time this season on Thursday night, falling 4-1 at Panther Field. Wesleyan moves to 1-4 on the season and 0-3 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play while the Oilers improve to 2-3 on the year and 2-0 in the G-MAC.
The Oilers wasted no time getting on the board, scoring in the 2nd minute to take a quick 1-0 lead. Despite outshooting the Panthers 10-2 in the first half, Findlay held a one goal lead at the break.
In the 52nd minute Findlay extended its lead to 2-0, finding the back of the net after the original shot was blocked.
Wesleyan responded six minutes later, cutting the deficit to one on
Julian Gonzalez's first goal of the season with
Greg Melvin picking up the assist.
Findlay tallied their third goal in the 65th minute and their final goal in the 84th minute to take the match by a tally of 4-1.
The Oilers held the advantage in shots, 26-6.

Josh Barnett, Melvin and Gonzalez each recorded one goal.
Lucas Daunhauer made nine saves while allowing four goals in 90 minutes of play.
