PHILIPPI, WV. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team took care of business on Saturday afternoon with a sweep of Alderson Broaddus.
Maci Brown and the Panthers shut-out the Battlers 6-0 in the opener before taking game two 12-3 in five innings.
GAME 1: Kentucky Wesleyan 6, AB 0

Brown pitched a two hitter to earn her seventh win of the season as she got plenty of run support.
Maddie Dawson gave the Panthers (22-23, 9-11 G-MAC) an early 1-0 lead with a RBI double in the top of the first inning. The lead grew to 4-0 after a three run third.
Jaylin Tidwell started the scoring with a RBI single into right.
Courtney Lockwood doubled-in the second run of the frame while the rally ended with an unearned run as
Meredith Daunhauer was applying pressure on the base paths.
Daunhauer later added two more runs in the seventh with a single down the leftfield line. She finished the contest three for five with a stolen base and two RBIs.
GAME 2: Kentucky Wesleyan 12, AB 3
The second game was all Wesleyan, especially in the early innings. Dawson drove in Daunhauer for the second straight game, this time with a single up the middle.
Lexie Mullen continued the hit parade with a RBI single through the right side of the diamond. A sacrifice fly by
Jaclyn Parker ended a three run first.
The top of the order came around in the second as the Panthers scored four more times. Daunhauer, Dawson, and Mullen each record a RBI in the frame as
Evyn Hendrickson was spotted a 7-0 lead. The Battlers (3-27, 2-12 G-MAC) scored twice in the bottom of the third, but the Panthers answered back in the fourth.
Lockwood ended a five-run frame with a two-run double into left field as Wesleyan established a 12-2 lead after four innings. Hendrickson pitched a complete game, allowing three runs, two earned on six hits with seven strikeouts. Daunhauer finished the game three for four with three runs scored, a stolen base, and RBI.
Dawson also produced a three for four day with two RBIs while Mullen went two for three with three RBIs.
The Panthers will host Walsh University on Friday as Great Midwest action continues. First pitch at Foster Field is scheduled for 12 PM CT.
