OWENSBORO, Ky. – After a quick turnaround, the Kentucky Wesleyan College softball team was back in action on Wednesday afternoon at Foster Field. The Panthers fell to McKendree University in a non-conference affair 10-0 and 12-3.
 
The Bearcats (32-13) already lost to the Panthers (19-22) earlier this season. However, the rematch went the way of McKendree as three runs in the second and four in the third set-back Wesleyan for the duration. Kylee Sillman shut-down the Panthers' bats through five innings, allowing two hits.
 
McKendree scored three in the first inning of game two as a two-run homerun ended the first frame. Evyn Hendrickson kept the lead within reach thereafter as she pitched three scoreless innings. The Bearcats added three more insurance runs in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead while extending their advantage to 8-0 in the top of the sixth.
 
The Panthers loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth and got on the board after an RBI from Jaylin Tidwell. Courtney Lockwood added another run with a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to 8-2.
 
The Bearcats answered with four runs in the top of the seventh while Caitlyn Lawson's home run in the bottom of the seventh was end to the Panthers' scoring.
 
Wesleyan will be back in action on Friday as they will make a trip to Elkins, West Virginia as Great Midwest action continues. First pitch against Davis & Elkins is scheduled for 2 PM CT.
