Panthers Stumble at Walsh

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team suffered a 84-53 loss to Walsh University on Saturday afternoon.  Keelie Lamb and Emma Wolfe both reach double figures in scoring in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference loss.

The Cavaliers quickly took a 10-point lead less than five minutes into the game but Wolfe halted Walsh's momentum with a lay up and three pointer to make it a five-point game.  Walsh maintained a double digit lead the entire second quarter, taking a 46-24 lead to the half.

Lily Grimes opened the third quarter with a three pointer of her own.  The Panthers scored a high of 17 points in the final frame with Jenna Martin, Kelsey Ivers, Jasmine Shelt, Codie Drake, Shayla Wright, Wolfe and Lamb all chipping in.

Lamb finished with 11 points followed by Wolfe with 10.  Addie Reimbold led the team with 10 rebounds with seven coming on defense.

The Panthers hit the road next week for their final road trip of the season.  Wesleyan head to Alderson Broaddus on Thursday followed by Davis & Elkins on Saturday.
