PHILIPPI, W. Va. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team bounced back with a 65-49 victory over Alderson Broaddus University on Thursday night to complete the season sweep over the Battlers.

Alderson Broaddus held a five-point lead after the first quarter but a dominant Panther defense held the Battlers to just seven points in the second frame.  Lily Grimes nailed a pair of free throws in the final minute to give Wesleyan their first lead of the game, a 30-28 lead they would take to the break.

A trio of lay ups from Grimes and Jenna Martin put the Panthers ahead by six to open the second half.  Wesleyan held the Battlers scoreless for over three minutes in the third quarter, allowing them to build up an 11-point lead entering the final quarter.  The Panthers kept pounding in the fourth, shooting 46.2% from the floor to hold on for the 65-49 win.

Keelie Lamb, Shayla Wright and Martin all reached double figures in scoring with Lamb and Martin tabbing 14 a piece and Wright at 12.  Kaylee Clifford led the Panthers with nine rebounds followed by Addie Reimbold at eight.  Lamb and Grimes each dished out a team high four assists while Lamb led the team with four steals.

Wesleyan scored 14 points off of turnovers and 20 points in the paint.  The Panther bench outscored the Battlers 24 to 6.

The Panthers head to Elkins, W. Va. on Saturday for their final regular season road game of the season against Davis & Elkins College with tip off set for 11 am CT.
