OWENSBORO, Ky. - The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's soccer team celebrated its seniors on Thursday night prior to dropping a 2-1 decision to the Panther of Ohio Dominican University.
Ohio Dominican struck early, netting their first goal of the game in the 7th minute.
Kentucky Wesleyan responded in the 26th minute to knot the game at one.Â
Sarah Haleman sent a pass from the right side of the box that found
Breigh Haase who knocked it in for her sixth goal of the season.
In the 39th minute, Ohio Dominican broke the tie to take a 2-1 lead to halftime.
Kentucky Wesleyan edged the Panthers in shots in the second half, 7-6, but neither team was able to net a goal in the highly physical second half.
Brittany Johnston played the full 90 minutes in net, making seven saves and allowing two goals. Haase led Kentucky Wesleyan with five shots while
Erica Zetter and
Madisyn Hunt tallied three and two respectively.
The Panthers remain home this weekend to host Cedarville University at 3:30 pm CT on Saturday.
