Second Half Rally Lift ODU Past Panthers

OWENSBORO, KY. - A tight match turned in favor of Ohio Dominican University on Thursday evening at Panther Field. The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's soccer team fell 5-0 to ODU in the penultimate home game of the season. 

Ohio Dominican (7-7-1, 6-5-1 G-MAC) fired eight shots in the opening half, but only one on goal. The lone attempt on the Panthers' (1-13-1, 0-8 G-MAC) net got through in the 35th minute. 

The score was the only tally in the first half and the lone blemish on Lucas Daunhauer's time between the pipes. The Panthers took five first half shots, one being on goal. Austin Moore slipped through the defense late in the first half and got a one-on-one opportunity, but Ian Crook made the save to keep the shut-out intact. 

ODU added a second tally in the 49th minute as deflection bounded back to River Allbaugh who converted the second score of the night. Three minutes later Ohio Dominican added another score. Trailing 4-0, Julian Gonzalez tried to cutting into the lead in the 79th minute, but Crook made another save to help earn his first win of the season. ODU added one more score in the 81st minute. 

Moore finished with two shots, one on goal. Jacob Stauffer made four saves in the final 45 minutes. 

The Panthers will host Cedarville on Saturday afternoon at Panther Field. The match is scheduled to start at 1PM CT.
