Men's Basketball Posts 98-75 G-MAC Win over Malone

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Six Panthers scored in double figures on Saturday night, helping the Kentucky Wesleyan College men's basketball team post a 98-75 win over Great Midwest Athletic Conference opponent Malone University.  The victory marks the 12th straight for the Panthers, and their 39th straight win at home.

The Pioneers jumped out early to an 8-5 lead, but the Panthers responded with a 12-0 to jump out to a nine point lead.  Ken-Jah Bosley forced a turnover and found Jordan Jacks down the court for a fast break lay-up.  Malone erased the nine-point deficit over the next six minutes of play, and took a two-point lead at the 7:48 mark of the first half, but it would be their last lead of the game.  Kentucky Wesleyan responded with a 19-9 run to take a 43-35 lead at the half.

Kentucky Wesleyan didn't let up in the second half, outscoring the Malone bench 26 to 9.  A pair of free throws from Sam Williams midway through the second frame gave the Panthers a 28-point lead, their largest of the game.  Just minutes later, Williams converted a three-point play to put Kentucky Wesleyan ahead 82-61.  Bosley and Williams led the way with 12 and 11 points respectively in the second half.

The Panthers posted a 51.4 shooting percentage including 15 second chance points and 12 on the fast break.  Kentucky Wesleyan outscored the Pioneers in the point, 52-28, and scored 31 points off turnovers to Malone's 17.

Jacks led all scorers with 19 points plus seven rebounds and three assists.  Bosley followed with 17 points and dished out six assists.  Malek Harris and Sam Williams each contributed 13 points, and both posted a 50% shooting percent.  Charles Foster posted 11 points and four assists, while Adam Stanford tabbed 10 points and led the way with four steals.
