Box Score Kentucky Wesleyan lost a heartbreaking 1-0 match in double overtime to Alderson Broaddus on Saturday afternoon at Panther Field in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. The Battlers scored the only goal of the match early on in the second overtime period. The Panthers are now 2-4 (2-2-1, G-MAC) on the season.
KWC had chances to score throughout the match, as they registered 11 shots, with five on-goal. Late in the second half, Breigh Haase had a shot attempt that just went wide off of a cross that would have likely won the match for the Panthers. Haase led Kentucky Wesleyan with four shots total in the contest.
Makenzie McDonald, Ellen Tichenor, Kamryn Pulliam, and Penni Pluimer each had a shot on-goal in the match. Pluimer has produced at least one shot in every match this season.
Goalkeeper Taylor Rentchler generated eight saves. The Panthers' defense faced 21 shots from Alderson Broaddus in the match.
Kentucky Wesleyan will have a week off, and will play again on Homecoming weekend next Saturday against G-MAC opponent Trevecca Nazarene. The match is set to begin at noon.
