Box Score

Kentucky Wesleyan dropped a tough-fought match at home on Saturday afternoon against Alderson Broaddus at Panther Field in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. KWC drops to 1-7, (1-4, G-MAC) on the season.

The Panthers took the lead in the second half, after Arthur Rogers scored in the 55th minute of play. Alderson Broaddus would respond just minutes later to even the score in the 61st minute.

AB would score again thirteen minutes later to take a 2-1 edge, as Ashley Sibisi from AB scored his second goal of the contest.

Later on in the half, the Battlers committed a penalty inside the box, allowing Kentucky Wesleyan to take a penalty kick. Rogers would put it in to tie the match at two, and would also score his second goal of the game.

After 90 minutes of play, the match was still tied at two. In the overtime period, the match continued to remain physical. The Battlers caught a break after a miss-placed pass by the Panthers gave AB possession. A long pass down the field landed into the feet Shavon John-Brown of the Battlers as he scored the game winning goal on a breakaway.

Goalkeeper Grant Allen tallied six saves in the contest. Rogers was the only Panther player to produce any shots on-goal in the match.

KWC will return to the pitch on Wednesday afternoon at Oakland City in non-conference play. The match is tabbed for a 3:30 p.m. start.
