Kentucky Wesleyan fell at home 3-0 on Thursday evening at Steele Stadium in Great Midwest Athletic conference play. The Senators scored all three goals on the Panthers in the second half. KWC is now 1-6 (1-3 G-MAC) on the season.
For Davis & Elkins, Lukas Grosse-Puppendahl recorded a hat-trick, and scored all three goals in the match. The first goal for the Senators came in the 58th minute of the contest, after the Panthers committed a foul inside the box, leading to a penalty kick.
The second goal of the match came less than one minute later, as the Senators scored off a header from a cross inside the box to take a 2-0 lead. The final goal came late in the match in the 81st minute off another penalty kick, after the Panthers committed another foul inside the box.
Kentucky Wesleyan had opportunities to get on the board in the second half. The Panthers tallied nine total shots throughout the course of the match. Kurtis Roberts led KWC with a team-high two shots on-goal. Roberts came close to putting the Panthers on the scoreboard, along with Nikos Agisilaou who also just missed in the upper right corner of the goal.
Goalkeeper Grant Allen registered five saves in the match.
The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, as they are set to take on G-MAC foe Alderson Broaddus at Panther Field. Kickoff is set for noon.
