Kentucky Wesleyan fell victim to a late goal in a 1-0 defeat against Cedarville on Saturday evening in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. The game was set to play at Cedarville's Yellow Jacket Soccer Complex, but due to weather was moved to Wright State University's field in Dayton. The Panthers are now 0-4 (0-2 G-MAC) on the season.
The only goal of the contest came by the Yellow Jackets in the 86th minute of play off of a corner kick. The Panthers were held in check to just three shots throughout the match. Cedarville took 15 shots, with nine-on goal. Kentucky Wesleyan also committed 13 fouls, with three yellow cards in the match.
Grant Allen recorded eight saves in the contest, a season-high. Blake Cobb registered the only two shots on-goal for KWC in the match. Cobb has taken at least one shot in every match this season.
KWC is back in play next Tuesday. The Panthers are once again on the road, as they travel to Tennessee to face Union. The match is tabbed to begin at 6:00 CT.
