Kentucky Wesleyan dropped its conference match at Malone 2-1 on Thursday afternoon in Canton, Ohio. KWC took the first meeting at home in Owensboro 4-1. With the loss, Kentucky Wesleyan slips to 2-9, (1- G-MAC) on the year.
The Pioneers collected both of their goals in the early stages of the opening half. Malone struck first in the sixth minute of play, and would add their second score just nine minutes later in the 15th minute of action.
Late into the second half, Kentucky Wesleyan got on the board. Austin Moore scored his first goal of the season in the 87th minute, to cut the deficit down to 2-1. The Panthers were unable to get a shot off on-goal in the final minutes of the match.
Kentucky Wesleyan as a team totaled eight shots in the match. Moore and Nikos Agisilaou were the only Panther players to get a shot on-goal in the contest. Jacob Stauffer posted two saves.
The Panthers will be back in action a week from today at Alderson Broaddus.
