Kentucky Wesleyan fell at Trevecca 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday evening in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play in Nashville. Tuesday's match was the final match of the regular season. With the loss, KWC's four game winning streak comes to a close. Kentucky Wesleyan ends the regular season with a final record of 7-8-2, (6-6-2 G-MAC). The Panthers will be the number five seed in the conference tournament.
TNU scored their first goal of the match in the eighth minute of action to take the early 1-0 advantage. Later on in the half at the 26:02 mark, the Trojans struck again to add on to their lead.
The Panthers were held to just two shots in the first half. Brittany Johnston and Anna Duff took both shots for KWC.
In the second half of play, Breigh Haase put the Panthers on the board with a goal in the 69th minute of play. Skylar Walden collected the assist on the scored goal.
Natalie Hobgood scored in the 85th minute to even the score at two apiece, and to force overtime.
In the overtime period, Trevecca scored the game-winning goal in the 95th minute to win the match. The Trojans will be the top seed in the G-MAC Championship Tournament.
Taylor Rentchler registered nine saves at goalkeeper. The Panthers' defense faced 20 total shots from Trevecca throughout the contest.
KWC placed seven shots on-goal in the match. Kamryn Pulliam led the Panthers with two shots on the night.
Kentucky Wesleyan will play at Davis & Elkins on Saturday in the first round of the conference tournament.
