Panthers win fourth straight with 1-0 victory against Ohio Valley

Kentucky Wesleyan defeated Ohio Valley 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Panther Field in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. KWC previously defeated the Fighting Scots 1-0 on the road earlier in the year. With the win on Saturday, KWC improves to 7-7-2, (6-5-2 G-MAC) and has now won four consecutive matches.

The Panthers netted the only goal of the match late in the first half in the 41st minute of action. Kelsey Humphries scored the goal on a header off of a cross from Madallyn Peveler. Humphrires also scored the game winning goal against OVU in the first meeting between the two squads.

Kamryn Pulliam, Breigh Haase, and Kelsey Humphries each recorded four shots in the match. Haase registered three shots on-goal, and Pulliam posted two shots on-goal throughout the duration of the match.

KWC as a team added 17 shots. Taylor Rentchler collected three saves.

Kentucky Wesleyan will next play on Tuesday evening at Trevecca in their regular season finale. The match is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. CT. KWC is currently in fourth place in the conference standings, and has nearly clinched an automatic berth into the G-MAC tournament.
