Second half comeback lifts Panthers past Ohio Valley

Kentucky Wesleyan used a big second half comeback to record a 2-1 victory over Ohio Valley on Saturday afternoon at Panther Field in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. With the win, KWC improves to 3-12, (2-9 G-MAC) on the season. The Panthers will play their final regular season game at Trevecca on Tuesday. As of today, the Panthers would be the number six seed in the G-MAC Championship tournament.

Ohio Valley scored the first goal of the contest in the first half in the 29th minute of action. OVU led 1-0 at the break.

The Panthers came out and controlled the tempo of the match in the second half. KWC got on the board in the 53rd minute of play, after Kurtis Roberts hit Arthur Rogers on a long pass down field. Rogers nailed his shot from inisde the box to even the score. Just four minutes later, Kentucky Wesleyan would take the lead. Arthur Rogers crossed a ball inside the box, and Nikos Agisilaou's header went into the back of the net to give the Panthers the lead.

Ohio Valley had multiple chances to tie the match late, but Kentucky Wesleyan was able to hold off the Figthing Scots' charge.
