Men’s soccer up-ended at home to Trevecca, 4-1

Kentucky Wesleyan fell 4-1 on Saturday afternoon to Trevecca Nazarene at Panther Field in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. With the loss, KWC drops to 2-8, (1-5 G-MAC) on the season.

Trevecca scored two goals in the first half and added two more in the second half. The first goal came in the 31st minute off of a cross that landed inside the box for a close shot on-goal. The next goal was scored eight minutes later on a break-away from a long pass down field.

Three minutes into the second, Trevecca took a 3-0 lead after they scored on a shot from inside the box again. KWC would score its lone goal of the contest in the 53rd minute off of an Arthur Rogers penalty kick. Rogers leads Kentucky Wesleyan this season with four goals scored.

Grant Allen registered three saves, while Jacob Stauffer recorded two. The Panthers finished the match with 10 shots, seven of which landed on-goal. Rogers led KWC with three shots on-goal.

The Panthers will next play Thursday at Malone in Canton, Ohio. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m. CT.
