Soccer edged in double-overtime

Kentucky Wesleyan lost at Southern Indiana, 3-2, in double-overtime on Thursday night. It was the season opener for both squads.
 
USI's Riley Belding tallied the first goal in the first 10 minutes before the Panthers responded with two goals before halftime.
 
Cody Leffert scored on an Isaiah Hagan pass at the 31:36 minute mark. Kaelin Hildreth followed with a goal on a Hagan assist at the 38th minute to settle on a 2-1 Kentucky Wesleyan lead at intermission.
 
The Screaming Eagles' Logan Ball tied the game at 2-2 all in the 69th minute. Kasper Bjoro put away the game-winner after 109 minutes played.
 
Grant Allen collected five saves for the Panthers.
 
Kentucky Wesleyan had seven shots on goal compared to USI's 23.
 
The Panthers open Great Midwest Athletic Conference play at Davis & Elkins on Thursday, Sept. 10.
