Women's soccer earns first win

Kentucky Wesleyan earned their first victory of the season by edging host Alderson Broaddus 3-2 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on Saturday ay Philippi, WVa.

Katlyn Duke put the Panthers on the board first by scoring in the first eight minutes on an assist from Annie Elder. The Battler's Shelby Riddle tied the game on a penalty kick at the 22-minute mark. Breigh Haase responded one minute later on an unassisted goal to put KWC ahead at halftime 2-1.

Annie Elder moved the Panthers ahead 3-1 in the 61st minute on a double-assist from Brittany Johnson and Lauren Norton.  ABU's Lauren Small  scored the game's final goal  with five minutes remaining.

Goalie Kathryn Dishion faced 23 ABU shots and collected 10 saves in 90 minutes. The Panthers posted 14 shots.

Kentucky Wesleyan (1-1, 1-1 G-MAC) will host Salem International at Steele Stadium at 5 p.m. CT,
