Box Score The Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer team finished their final regular season match of the year with a victory on the road over Trevecca 2-1 on Tuesday evening. The Panthers have now set a KWC record with the most wins in a single season in school-history at 11. It also marks
Jamie Duvall's third-consecutive season of at least 10 wins as head coach. The Panthers also have ended the regular season with their highest finish ever at second place in the G-MAC standings.
In the first half of action,
Audrey Taylor scored her third goal of the seaon on the only goal of the first half in the 26
th minute, where she scored off of a loose ball in the box.
Late in the second half, Anna Hoffman tied the match up for the Trojans 1-1 in the 78
th minute on an unassisted goal. Seventeen seconds later,
Sidney Pruitt scored her third goal of the year on the go-ahead game-winning goal of the match to give Kentucky Wesleyan a 2-1 lead for good. Trevecca took 20 shots throughout the course of the match, but only 10 of them were placed on goal.
Goalkeeper
Kathryn Dishion tallied nine saves, including a late save in the final minute of the match. Dishion is now the all-time saves leader in KWC history with 317 in her career. Kentucky Wesleyan sweeps Trevecca on the year, after defeating the Trojans 1-0 back on October 1
st as well.
The Panthers finish the regular season at 11-4 (10-4 G-MAC). With tonight's win, Kentucky Wesleyan will have a first round bye for the G-MAC tournament. They will face the winner of Alderson Broaddus/Ursuline on Thursday, November 5th at 1:30 p.m. in Elkins, WV.
