Box Score Kentucky Wesleyan lost at home for the first time this year to Davis & Elkins 5-0 in Great Midwest Athletic Confence play on Saturday afternoon at Panther Field. D&E spoiled the Panthers opportunity to potentially host the G-MAC tournament as the number one-seed.
The Senators came flying out of the gates with an early goal in the fourth minute from Katrina Giantsopoulos. They would add one more score right before halftime in the 40th minute from Alyssa Jacobs to make it a 2-0 game at the break.
D&E delivered three more goals in the second half as they controlled the possession and field. Giantsopoulos brought in the first goal in the 49th minute, and Taylor Morton scored the second off of a free kick in the 73rd minute. Giantsopoulos would score for a third time in the 81st minute to give her a hat trick. She also provided an assist in the first half.
The Panthers struggled to find looks on offense, as they were held to only six shots during the progression of the match. Goalkeeper
Kathryn Dishion logged eight saves.
Kentucky Wesleyan will play their final regular season match of the year on the road on Tuesday against Trevecca. The Panthers will follow up at the G-MAC tournament.
