Women's soccer wins seventh straight and a record tying 10th victory

Kentucky Wesleyan won their seventh straight and a record tying 10th victory with a 2-0 win over Alderson Broaddus in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action on Thursday night at Steele Stadium. The season record 10 wins was set in 2013.

In the first half, neither team scored a goal, despite Kentucky Wesleyan's eight shots. The Panthers scored both goals of the match in the second half. Katlyn Duke scored her 14th goal of the season in the 56th minute of action. Audrey Taylor provided the assist as the Panthers went up 1-0.

One minute later, Breigh Haase brought home the second goal to put the Panthers up comfortably 2-0. KWC produced 14 shots throughout the match.

The Panthers defense played a key role in the match as they held Alderson Broaddus to six shots in the second half. Goalkeeper Kathryn Dishion finished the match with five saves. 

With the victory, the Panthers improve to 10-3 (9-3 G-MAC) on the year. They also remain perfect at home this season at 6-0.

Saturday's match will be against the Davis & Elkins (12-3, 10-2 G-MAC), who currently holds first place in the league standings. The match will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Panther Field.
