September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness month and Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer is fully supporting the cause. KWC opens their season tomorrow night with the Lane Goodwin Foundation game against Southern Indiana at Steele Stadium beginning at 7 p.m.
"Lane Goodwin was one of the strongest kids I ever knew," said head coach
John Fusco. "He really touched a lot of people's hearts in our community. Pediatric cancer is a subject that touches a lot of people's families. The foundation raises money to fight for the cause. They just don't want to fight the cause, they want to win the cause."
The Panthers have 15 letterwinners returning from a team that finished 4-10-2 last season. Joining the 15 letterwinners are 15 newcomers.
"It's going to be a big day for our program," added Fusco. "Should be a great matchup for both teams."
