Stepping out of conference to beat Harris-Stowe 2-1 on Tuesday, Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer returns to G-MAC play this weekend with a trip to Nashvilleto face Trevecca.
"It was a hard fought game," said head coach
John Fusco about the Harris-Stowe match. "It was more of a grind, really and we had two really good set pieces that we had been working on and both of them ended up in the back of the net."
KWC (2-4) has two goals apiece this season from
Christakis Agisilaou and
Gary McMeekin to lead the team and
Kurtis Roberts has two assists for the team high.Â
Grant Allen has played the majority of the minutes in goal, making 25 saves.
"We are preparing a lot of the same way we did for Cedarville," Fusco replied when asked about how his team is preparing for Trevecca. "It's going to be a close, tight game again. They have always played close games against us. They will be good, especially in the midfield and if we win the midfield battle, we should be doing pretty well."
Trevecca enters the match 2-4-1 on the season.
The Panthers play their home opener on Oct. 2 against Davis & Elkins.
