The Kentucky Wesleyan women's basketball team pulled away from G-MAC foe Ohio Valley in the second half on their way to a 66-53 victory to improve to 14-5 overall and to 9-1 in league action.

Shelbi Tyra ended the Ohio Valley run by knocking down two free throw attempts at the 18:45 mark.

Jordanne Gambill tied the game at six apiece on a made jumper with 17:01 remaining before the break with the assist going to senior
T'Essence Phelps. Gambill gave KWC its first lead of the game on the Panthers ensuing possession, but the lead was short lived as Ohio Valley hit a three pointer on the next possession.
Jennifer Walker-Crawford tied the game at nine all after going 1-for-2 from the free throw line and then hit a jumper to put KWC back ahead at 11-9 with 11:53 to go in the game.
The two teams exchanged baskets before Walker-Crawford hit a free throw to give KWC its largest lead of the half at 25-20 with 5:22 remaining before the intermission.
Ohio Valley recaptured the lead on two made free throw attempts with 2:23 on the clock, but KWC headed into halftime ahead 31-30.
During the first 20 minutes of play KWC shot 44 percent from the field and 64 percent from the free throw line. The Fighting Scots connected on 41 percent of its shots from the field and 75 percent of its shots from the stripe, while going 2-for-10 from the free throw line.
Ohio Valley knocked down a three pointer to open the second half of action to go up 33-31.
The Panthers used a 7-0 run to build up another five point lead at 40-35 with 16:06 remaining in the game. Following a made jumper by Ohio Valley KWC used a 10-0 run to go up 50-37 with 11:52 on the clock.
The Fighting Scots cut the Panthers lead to single digits with 3:36 to go in the game on a free throw attempt and pulled within seven on a jumper at the 2:49 mark. Ohio Valley was unable to pull any closer as KWC went back ahead by double digits with 1:21 remaining on the clock following two free throws by senior

KWC finished the game shooting 38 percent from the field and 73 percent from the free throw line. Ohio Valley made 36 percent of its shots from the field and 73 percent from the stripe.
Senior
Karly Rhoads had a team best 15 points. Tyra finished with 13 points and three assists, Phelps also recorded three assists along with seven rebounds in the victory. Walker-Crawford collected seven rebounds as well to tie her season best.
