The Kentucky Wesleyan women's basketball team won its fifth straight game on Saturday afternoon, beating G-MAC opponent Alderson Broaddus 77-55. Following the win the Panthers move to 11-4 on the season and to 6-0 in conference action.
Alderson Broaddus knocked down a three point basket to start the game at the 17:46 mark. Senior
Shelbi Tyra knocked down a jumper on the ensuing possession to cut the Battlers lead to one.

Jordanne Gambill put the Panthers ahead 6-5 at the 16:18 mark following a made jumper.

Kourtney Rhoads knocked down a jumper at the 14:25 to give the Panthers the 10-5 advantage.
The Battlers ended the Panthers 6-0 run by hitting a three pointer to make it a 10-8 game with 14 minutes remaining in the first half of action.
KWC went on another 6-0 run, before AB hit a jumper to put the score at 17-10 with just under 11 minutes to play in the game.
Senior
T'Essence Phelps gave the Panthers their first double digit lead of the half after converting on two free throw attempts to make it a 21-10 game with 10:03 on the clock.
Freshman
Erin Dorn gave KWC its largest lead of the first half at 34-19 after making two free throw attempts at the 3:58 mark.
Alderson Broaddus connected on a jumper right before the intermission to put the halftime score at 36-27.
The Panthers shot 50 percent from the field in the first half of play and went 9-for-12 from the free throw line. The Battlers connected on 42 percent of its shots from the floor in the opening 20 minutes, while going 7-for-11 from beyond the arch.
KWC scored the first four points of the second half to go ahead 40-27 with 18:38 to go in the game.
Kourtney Rhoads put the Panthers up 53-32 after going 1-for-2 from the free throw line with 13:33 on the clock.
The Battlers pulled within 14 at the 5:02 mark after Haley Robb hit a jumper to put the score at 64-50. Alderson Broaddus was unable to get any closer as the Panthers won 77-55.
The Panthers finished the game shooting 57 percent from the field and 78 percent from the free throw line. Alderson Broaddus hit 45 percent of its shots from the field in the game and made 55 percent from beyond the arch, while going 1-for-4 from the free throw line.
Kourtney Rhoads had a team best 16 points in the win. Gambill and senior
Karly Rhoads both finished with four rebounds on the afternoon, while Gambill also collected three steals. Freshman
Asia Coates led the team in assists with three.
KWC returns to action on Saturday, January 18 at home against G-MAC opponent Trevecca Nazarene at 1:00 p.m.
