Women’s soccer loses 3-1 to Alderson Broaddus

The Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to G-MAC opponent Alderson Broaddus on Saturday afternoon in Philippi, W. Va. The Panthers are 7-4 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Alderson Broaddus went ahead 2-0 after posting goals in the third minute and 14th minute.

Sophomore Katlyn Duke put the Panthers on the board less than a minute after the Battlers scored their second goal to cut the lead in half.

Prior to halftime Alderson Broaddus scored the final goal of the game with Sofia Diaz finding the back of the net at the 44:19 mark.

The two teams finished the match with eight shot attempts and Alderson Broaddus held the 5-2 advantage on corner kicks.

Sophomore Courtney Barter played the second half in goal for KWC and had two saves.

The Panthers return home in their next match to play conference foe Salem International at 5 p.m. at Steele Stadium.
