Taking part in their first road G-MAC game of the season the Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer team fell to Davis & Elkins 2-1 on Thursday afternoon in Elkins, W. Va. The Panthers are 7-3 on the season and 1-3 in conference action following the loss.
During the first 45 minutes of play the Senators held the slight 6-5 advantage in shots, while KWC had the 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
Davis & Elkins went ahead 1-0 in the 67th minute on a goal by Laia Margenat Dordas.
The Panthers tied the match when freshman
Penni Pluimer found the back of the net on an assist by junior
Annie Elder in the 76th minute of play.
Davis & Elkins scored the game winner with eight minutes remaining in regulation.
The Senators outshot KWC 15-12. The Panthers had a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Sophomore
Kathryn Dishion finished the game with three saves.
Next up for the Panthers is G-MAC opponent Alderson Broaddus on Saturday, Oct. 5 at noon in Philippi, W. Va.
