The Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to G-MAC opponent Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday afternoon to move to 9-6 overall and to 3-5 in conference play.
The Trojans went ahead 1-0 in the 29th minute when Becky Bartos found the back of the net from the top of the box.
Trevecca Nazarene had a slight 9-8 advantage in shots during the first 45 minutes of action. KWC held the 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Sophomore Audrey Taylor tied the score in the 88th minute after heading the ball in on a corner kick by freshman Penni Pluimer.
Less than 30 seconds later the Trojans regained the lead and held onto it for the final 1:30 of play.
Trevecca Nazarene outshot the Panthers 20-16, but KWC had the 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
The Panthers return to action on Thursday, Oct. 24 against G-MAC opponent Ursuline at 2:30 in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
