The Kentucky Wesleyan men's soccer team dominated G-MAC opponent Ohio Valley on Saturday afternoon, winning 9-1. The Panthers improve to 4-7-2 on the season and to 3-4-1 in conference play with the victory. The game was part of homecoming festivities for KWC.
Junior
Christakis Agisilaou put the Panthers on the board early, scoring less than four minutes into the game on a through ball by classmate
Gary McMeekin.
Less than two minutes later sophomore
Luke Robertson found the back of the net for KWC. Robertson scored on a corner kick by freshman
Kurtis Roberts.
C. Agisilaou scored his second goal of the game in the 14th minute on an assist by Roberts.
Ohio Valley scored their lone goal in the 35th minute on a free kick from 25 yards out.
KWC outshot the Fighting Scots 15-2 in the first half and had the 5-0 advantage in corner kicks.
McMeekin made it a 4-1 game less than two minutes into the second half on a direct kick.
Junior
Ryan Brewer put the ball past the Ohio Valley goalkeeper following 46 minutes of play to extend the Panthers lead to four.
Senior
Daniel Ballard put the ball in the back of the goal on a cross by Roberts in the 59th minute.
The Panthers went ahead 7-1 on a goal by Roberts via a through ball from C. Agisilaou in the 66th minute.
Foreman scored the final two goals for KWC in the final 10 minutes of play on assists from C. Agisilaou and junior
Christian Oakley.
KWC returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 19 against G-MAC foe Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville, Tenn. at 7 p.m.
