The Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer team scored two second half goals to beat Salem International on Thursday, Oct. 10 at Steele Stadium. The Panthers moved to 8-4 on the season and to 2-4 in G-MAC play, earning the single season wins record with the 2-0 win over the Tigers.
The two teams were held scoreless during the first 45 minutes of play. KWC outshot the Tigers 11-3 and held the 2-0 advantage in corner kicks during the first half.
Sophomore
Lauren Norton made it a 1-0 game after finding the back of the net on an assist from junior
Paige Kramer in the 63rd minute.
Less than two minutes later the Panthers extended the lead on a goal by junior
Leslie Chinn. Norton earned the assist on the Chinn goal.
KWC outshot Salem International 26-5 and had the 6-0 edge in corner kicks.
Kathryn Dishion tallied two saves in the victory.
The Panthers play G-MAC opponent Ohio Valley on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. at Panther Field as part of the Homecoming festivities.
