Women’s soccer sets single season wins record with victory over Salem International

The Kentucky Wesleyan women's soccer team scored two second half goals to beat Salem International on Thursday, Oct. 10 at Steele Stadium. The Panthers moved to 8-4 on the season and to 2-4 in G-MAC play, earning the single season wins record with the 2-0 win over the Tigers.

The two teams were held scoreless during the first 45 minutes of play. KWC outshot the Tigers 11-3 and held the 2-0 advantage in corner kicks during the first half.

Sophomore Lauren Norton made it a 1-0 game after finding the back of the net on an assist from junior Paige Kramer in the 63rd minute.

Less than two minutes later the Panthers extended the lead on a goal by junior Leslie Chinn. Norton earned the assist on the Chinn goal.

KWC outshot Salem International 26-5 and had the 6-0 edge in corner kicks.

Kathryn Dishion tallied two saves in the victory.

The Panthers play G-MAC opponent Ohio Valley on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. at Panther Field as part of the Homecoming festivities.
