Josh White opened the game with a RBI double bringing
Josh Vance home and then scored on a wild-pitch for a 2-0 lead in the first. USI came back to produce a run in the first and second for the tie.
Randy Villa hit a RBI single scoring
Sean Embry in the fourth. Embry knocked in
Michael Hellmueller with a single and Villa followed with another RBI single as Embry scored to extend the Panthers lead to 5-2 in the sixth.
The Screaming Eagles added one in the seventh and surpassed KWC with three in the eight for the win.
Villa went 5-for-5 while Vance added two hits apiece.
Jon Wandling threw seven innings with five strikeouts, eight hits and four runs.
Noah Boswell received the loss in 2/3 innings pitched by allowing two runs.
Colton Slank closed the game by getting the final out.
The Panthers (14-22, 8-14 GLVC) will host a four-game weekend series with Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday and Sunday at Panther Park. The doubleheaders start at noon.
