Kentucky Wesleyan College's baseball team used its pitching in the opener and its offense in the nightcap to capture a doubleheader to sweep of Saint Joseph's on Sunday in Rensselaer, Ind.
Shane Waldrop pitched seven strong innings, striking out six and walking one as the Panthers took game one 5-1.
Scott Woodburn and
Ben Farleigh drove in two runs each for Wesleyan and
Luis Mila added a pair of hits and an RBI.
In game two, the Panthers (15-20 overall, 9-16 Great Lakes Valley Conference) scored four runs in both the eighth and ninth innings to win 11-10.
KWC got a huge game from
Jordan White, who went 5-for-6 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Farleigh also drove in three runs and Woodburn and
Ray Delvalle plated two.
Matt Atkins got the win in relief, going 2 2/3 innings.
The games were moved to Rensselaer due to heavy rain in the Owensboro area.
The Panthers wrap up the regular season with a twin bill this weekend at Indianapolis.
