Katie Behrens poured in 25 points to lead four players in double figures as the Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team defeated Missouri-St. Louis 84-77 on Friday night in a Great Lakes Valley Conference matchup in St. Louis.

The Panthers (12-8, 6-7 GLVC) fought back twice against the Lady Tritons, the last time midway through the second half as KWC fought off a potential rally.

Wesleyan held a 39-37 lead at halftime and maintained that slight edge until Missouri-St. Louis took the lead for the last time with 12:05 left in the game.

Shelbi Tyra gave the Panthers the lead for good when she hit a layup, was fouled and connected on the free throw for a 60-59 margin with 8:08 to go.


KWC gradually pulled away and sealed it by hitting 6-of-8 free throws in the last 1:08.

Amanda Harnist added 14 points for the Panthers and grabbed nine rebounds. Kourtney Rhoads finished with 13 points and Karly Rhoads 10.

Wesleyan shot 51 percent from the field (26-for-51) and was 27-of-39 from the line for 69 percent.

Kelly Mitchell led the Tritons with 29 points. Both teams committed 19 turnovers.
