Jay Ivey selected to 2010 NABC Honors Court

Jay Ivey has been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, recognizing collegiate men basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2009-10 season.

Ivey, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound, center from Owensboro (Owensboro Catholic HS), is a business administration major and a member of The Order of Oak and Ivy, the highest and most prestigious honor any junior or senior student can receive at KWC for leadership, intellect and  character.

As a junior he led the Panthers in field goal shooting with 59.9 percent and blocks with 23, and finished second in rebounding with 5.7 boards while scoring 6.7 points in 34 games and 33 starts. KWC compiled a 29-5 record and a trip to the NCAA tournament. He is the son of Jim and Linda Ivey.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these student-athletes possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors Court, an athlete must be a junior or senior and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher.
