Softball heads to Florida for Spring Break trip

The Kentucky Wesleyan softball team will travel to Florida over the spring break period to play 12 games. The Panthers start play on February 28th and will play until March 5th. All 12 contests will be played in Clermont, Fla.

KWC will face off with West Virginia Wesleyan, Tiffin, Point Park, Ferris State, Seton Hill, Lewis (DH), Quincy, Wheeling Jesuit, Findlay, Northwood, and Urbana. Kentucky Wesleyan is currently 0-6 this season, after dropping four games over the past weekend. The Panthers (0-6) lost to both Maryville and McKendree on the road.

Meredith Daunhauer leads the Panthers in batting with an average of .421. She also holds a team-high eight hits, and has also scored two runs.

Shelby Tennant leads KWC with three RBI's on the season. Courtney Lockwood and Samantha Marksbury have each posted four hits apiece. The Panthers have collected 24 hits in six contests this year.  Maci Brown has recorded a team-high eight strikeouts on the mound so far this year.

Four Panthers have pitched so far this season, and have given up a combined 41 earned runs.
