Jordyn Barga took over as the Kentucky Wesleyan College Director of Internal Operation and Athletic Marketing in May of 2024.
"I could not be happier about this hire," said VP Shook. "Jordyn has been "interviewing" for this position, as one of our top student workers, for the last two years. In addition to her successful academic and athletic careers, she's been instrumental in helping so many of our home competitions run smoothly and professionally."
Barga will remain at Kentucky Wesleyan College after a five-year playing career on the women's basketball team. During her time on campus, Barga spent the past two season working as a student worker and intern in Athletic Operations and Athletic Communications, becoming one of the most versatile candidates for the position.
"I am so excited to start this chapter in my life at a place that feels like home," said Barga. "I will be able to work with some high-class coaches, students, and administrators. I am ready to take on this new position."
Her overall duties include overseeing all home event operations while working to generate revenue for the department. She will also be one of the lead representatives in gaining corporate memberships of the reformatted W Club.
As a Division II student-athlete, Barga helped the Panthers to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including this past season. In her career Barga accumulated 1,141 points and 757 rebounds. In her final season she averaged 11.1 points and 7.2 rebounds while also recording eight double-doubles in 28 games.
Barga graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan in May of 2024 with a Bachelor's in Fitness and Sports Management and Communications. Later this summer Barga will start work on her online Master's degree in Sports Administration.
