Martin Daniel, MS, ATC, spent eight years as the director of athletic training and assistant women’s basketball coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College before transitioning into half retirement. Starting in 2020-21, Daniel remains as an assistant for the women's basketball program while supporting the athletic training office part time. 

Daniel came to KWC from Delta High School in Muncie, Ind., where served as the head girls basketball coach during the 2011-12 season. He also performed as the program’s director for all basketball, elementary through high school.

Prior to joining Delta, Daniel retired after 14 years as director of athletics and head athletic trainer at Blackford High School in 2011. He administered 21 varsity, 21 junior-varsity and two freshman sports.

His calling also included three years as executive director and CEO of Maryland Sports and Industrial Medicine Service, LLC, three years as president and CEO of Michigan Athletic and Rehabilitation Center, Inc., and seven years as the Director of Rehabilitation and Fitness for Walbro Corporation.

Today he continues his role as a consultant and mentor to many sports medicine and industrial athletic training programs.

Daniel resume includes serving as a Blue Ribbon Panel presenter for the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) national and regional conventions where he had three papers published in three separate sports medicine trade magazines.

He started his career as a teacher in the Blackford County School Corporation for seven years.

Daniel graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor’s and a master’s of science degree in health and safety education with a minor in physical education, health and recreation in 1976 and 1981.

He also earned his NATA license in 1976 and received a certification in work station ergonomics from Michigan in 1988.
