Kentucky Wesleyan College Athletics

Miles Mallette enters his 18th season as head softball coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2022-23. Since the inception of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in 2013, Mallette has accumulated an overall record of 328-430 with a 95-77 mark in G-MAC play. 

The 2019 season saw the Panthers produce a 22-26 overall record with a 13-9 mark in the G-MAC. Wesleyan has qualified for the Great Midwest Tournament each season under Mallette, playing for the Championship three times in the last six years. Meredith Daunhauer ended her career with he fourth All-GMAC selection while becoming a Google Cloud Academic All-American. Lexie Mullen also earned All-Region honors in 2019. 

In 2018, the Panthers were again playing their best softball by the season ends. Wesleyan marched all the way back to the Great Midwest Championship game, this time as seventh seed, only to fall to Hillsdale 4-1. Three players earned All-Conference honors while Meredith Daunhauer earned All-Region and Academic All-District honors as well. 

2017 provided a program milestone as the Panthers produced a record of 32-22 with an 18-8 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Wesleyan won four consecutive games in the Great Midwest Tournament to earn a berth into the NCAA Regional for the first time in program history. 

Under Mallette's guidance the Panthers were honored with several post-season awards. Jaylin Tidwell was named the G-MAC Freshman of the Year while her, Meredith Daunhauer, Lexie Mullen, Maddie Dawson, Maci Brown, and Mallory Nease all earn First Team honors. Daunhauer moved-up through All-Region teams to earn a spot as Collegiate Commissioner Association All-American Team. 

In 2016, Mallette won his 200th game as the head skipper in Owensboro. Mallete's Panthers produced a 25-win season for the third consecutive year.

For the second consecutive season, Mallette produced back-to-back 25-plus win seasons in 2015 with a 25-15 record, a second place finish in the league's regular season and a trip to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship first round. The wins were the 11th best in history.

The 2014 season marked the most successful season in Mallette's tenure. The Panther's complied a 26-19 record, place second in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference regular season and finished runner-up in G-MAC Championship.

The native of Northern California played baseball at Yuba (Jr.) College. Following his collegiate days, Mallette played men's fast-pitch softball for ten years in California. He was a member of two state championship teams at catcher. Mallette posted a .350 batting average. His team competed in two national championship tournaments finishing 11th and 12th.

Mallete was the lead softball instructor at the Sandlot Training Facility in Owensboro from 2001 to 2006.

Mallete was married to his wife Liz in the summer of 2021, by marriage, he has two step-sons. The Mallette family reside in Owensboro.
