Alex Vogel, ATC, joined the Kentucky Wesleyan College athletic training staff in the fall of 2015 and recently took over as the Director of Sports Medicine after serving for four years as an athletic trainer overseeing the healthcare for all 21 Wesleyan sports. Vogel works within a partnership with the College and Owensboro Health Orthopedics.
Vogel's directly oversees the health and wellness efforts of football, wrestling, softball, and track & field. Vogel runs the day-to-day operations for the athletic training room oversees the entire athletic training staff and interns. Since his time at KWC, Vogel has built strong relationships with mulitiple local healthcare providers to provide better care to the Kentucky Wesleyan athletes. In 2017 Vogel helped update, develop, and install the Wesleyan Athletics drug testing policies and in 2020 was an integral part of the KWC Covid-19 response team.Â

Prior to his transition into athletic training, Vogel served as First Responder for four years. From 2012 to 2015 he worked for the Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department as a Firefighter and Emergency Medical Responder. He currently volunteers with the Masonville Fire Department.Â

Vogel earned his Bachelors in Athletic Training in 2015 from Heidelberg University. A native of Tiffin, Ohio, Vogel currently resides in Masonville, Ky. with his dog Ruger.
