Casey Hamilton joined the Kentucky Wesleyan College Athletic Department in the summer of 2016 as the Assistant Baseball Coach. Prior to the 2019 season, Hamilton was elevated to Associate Head Baseball Coach.
The 2018 season brought more success for the defending conference champions, the Panthers finished the year 32-21 before falling in the Great Midwest Conference Championship game. Five players were honored with All-GMAC honors with Ostin Clark and Cody Bridges earning spots on the league's First Team. Bridges went on to earn All-Region honors as well.
During his first year (2017) with Kentucky Wesleyan, the Panthers brought home their first ever Great Midwest Athletic Conference title, the first conference title in program history. The Panthers earned two wins at the program’s fourth NCAA tournament appearance. The two wins are the most NCAA tournament wins in a single season.
Since 2016, Hamilton has been the head coach of the Owensboro Oilers of the Ohio Valley Collegiate League. Hamilton led the team to a 24-18 record in 2016 after posting only 10 wins the previous season.
During the 2015 season, Hamilton led the West Jessamine High School to a state title in Kentucky. While in Nicholasville, Ky., Hamilton’s team was district champions in 2011 and 2012, while earning the honor of Assistant Coach of the Year in 2011.
Prior to West Jessamine, Hamilton was the recruiting coordinator at Olney Central College in Olney, Ill. Hamilton helped the team to a district championship where he coached MLB pitcher Jered Eickhoff.
Hamilton returned to his alma mater Western Kentucky University from 2008 to 2010, handling first base coach duties while also being the camp coordinator. During his time at WKU, Hamilton saw 12 players selected in the MLB draft while bringing home the Sunbelt Conference title in 2008.
Hamilton received his Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from WKU in 2008, spending three seasons on the baseball team. A three-year letterwinner, Hamilton started every game all three years and ranks fifth in the record books in doubles. Hamilton also earned a spot on the 2005 Sunbelt All-Tournament team.
Prior to WKU, Hamilton spent one year at Mississippi State University where he was named to the SEC Scholar Athlete Honor Roll. Hamilton finished third in the SEC tournament while playing in the 2004 NCAA Regional at Georgia Tech.
A native of Ashland, Ky., Hamilton currently resides in Owensboro.
