Cedarville, Ohio - The Kentucky Wesleyan volleyball team lost in straight sets on the road against Cedarville Friday evening.
The Panthers fell to 1-9 (0-3 G-MAC). The Yellow Jackets improved their impressive early season record to 9-2 (4-0 G-MAC).
Cedarville completely controlled the first set, prevailing 25-10 to take a 1-0 lead.
Wesleyan showed much more fight in the following two sets. With the second set tied at 12, the Yellow Jackets reeled off three straight points and never allowed the Panthers to recover, winning 25-21 to extend their match lead to 2-0.
The home team got off to a fast 13-6 advantage in the third set. Wesleyan battled back with a 16-9 run, highlighted by three kills each from Grace Carter and Havanah John, to tie the set at 22, but Cedarville earned the next three points to finalize the match.
Hadley Wolfe tallied a team-high 11 kills and two blocks. John and Kami Parlin each recorded six kills, with the latter adding two aces and seven digs.
Ana De Sevilla-Acosta totaled 17 assists and seven digs. Juliana Greaney added 12 assists and two blocks.
Wesleyan has another opportunity tomorrow, Saturday, September 27 versus Ohio Dominican at 12:00 PM. The match will be streamed live on FloCollege.
