Columbus, Ohio – The Kentucky Wesleyan baseball team fell in the first game of their doubleheader vs. Ohio Dominican before the second game was suspended due to weather.

ODU (20-28, 14-16) leaned on small ball to score the first run of Game 1, using two singles, a sac bunt, and a productive flyout to go up 1-0 in the bottom of the second.

Both teams went quiet for the next three innings, with Wesleyan starter Isaac Rose (6.0 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 6 SO) posting a strong outing.

Wesleyan (21-25, 13-15 G-MAC) finally broke through in the top of the sixth. Logan Molnar led off with a single, Liam Hutson laid down a sacrifice bunt and ended up reaching on an error, and Jase Mizell delivered with an RBI single to drive in Molnar and tie the game at 1-1.

The tie didn't last very long, with the home team taking that run right back in the bottom half of the frame with the help of a crucial error in the field.

Wesleyan had one last chance to tie the seven-inning affair in the top of the seventh, and although Rhett Dysholm singled with two outs to put the tying run on first, the road team couldn't get Dysholm home in the 2-1 defeat.

Game 2 of today's doubleheader was suspended in the top of the seventh with ODU leading 12-7. If the second game of yesterday's doubleheader (which was postponed due to weather) is rescheduled, Game 2 of today's doubleheader will be completed prior to the start of that game. If the second game of yesterday's doudleheader is not rescheduled, Game 2 of today's doubleheader will be finalized as a six-inning game.
