The Saints scored the first run of the game in the top of the second inning, but the Panthers bounced back in the bottom half of the inning. Immi Mann led-off the frame with a single and scored on Guinny Garr's double down the left field line.

Garr went to third after a wild pitched and later scored on Hannah Beasley's single into centerfield. The Wesleyan lead did not last long as the Saints tied the game in top of the third and then took a 3-2 lead after a run-in top of the fourth.

The Panthers busted the game open in the bottom of the fifth with four runs, all coming with two outs in the frame. Beasley plated two runs with a single to right while Chloe Apple doubled down the line to score another run.
