Midway, Ky. – The Kentucky Wesleyan men's and women's tennis teams fell to in-state opponent Midway on Thursday afternoon.
The women's team began the day, falling 6-1 to the Eagles. Baylie McCreary earned the Panthers' lone point with her 6-4, 7-6, 7-6 (10-3) victory on Court 4.
Allessa Hall had a hard-fought battle on Court 3, coming up just short at 6-2, 0-6, 6-7 (2-10). Ella Brown was defeated 3-6, 1-6 on Court 1 and Angela Ho fell 2-6, 1-6 on Court 2.
The Panther men were also defeated 6-1 by Midway. Jose Ferrandis was again responsible for the lone Wesleyan point, winning 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (12-10) on Court 2.
Marc Stoever forced a tiebreaker in set 2 on Court 4 but ultimately fell 1-6, 6-7 (7-9). Adryan Taylor (5-7, 4-6 on Court 1), Nick Stoever (2-6, 4-6 on Court 3), Caleb Stovall (1-6, 2-6 on Court 5), and Connor Adams (3-6, 0-6 on Court 6) each fell in two sets.
The Panthers, on both the men's and women's sides, are next headed to Cedarville, Ohio, to battle the Yellow Jackets on Saturday, March 29 at 12:00 PM.
